The Atlantic City Boardwalk has a wide and varied history. The areas first population went there because it offered good food in a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. The city grew rapidly but hotel owners were dismayed once they had to continuously clean their lobbies from the sand introduced by the feet from the beach visitors.
